Donations
Every donation supports people in the forest and wood industry by removing financial barriers to education, research, professional development and training opportunities. This helps build capability and share knowledge across the sector. Thank you for supporting the future of forestry and wood processing in New Zealand.
Please include your name in the detail field and email the Foundation email to advise you have made a donation and a receipt for tax purposes can be issued.
The NZIF Foundation is a registered charity (CC47691) under the Charities Act 2005. Donations of $5 or more are eligible donations for tax purposes.

Since 2011, the Foundation has directly supported over 88 students and industry professionals, providing more than $200,000 in scholarships, awards and grants.
Your donation helps continue this important work. The Forest & Wood Foundation, previously known as the NZIF Foundation, builds on a long association with the New Zealand Institute of Forestry while broadening its reach and impact across the growing, management and use of forests, production and processing of wood and non-wood forest products and the provision of other ecosystem services.

Tax deductibility and receipts
The Forest & Wood Foundation is a registered charity. Donations are tax deductible, subject to New Zealand Inland Revenue requirements. Donation receipts are issued so donors can claim the appropriate tax credit or deduction.

What your donation supports
There are three ways to donate:
General donations give the Foundation flexibility to support scholarships, awards, education, research, professional development and other sector initiatives where they are needed most.
Establishing a Scholarship or Award
Individuals, families, companies and organisations may wish to establish a named scholarship, or award through the Foundation. This can be a meaningful way to recognise a person, organisation, legacy, area of interest or contribution to the sector.Working through the Foundation provides an established charitable structure, tax deductibility for eligible donations, administration support, reporting, promotion and greater exposure through the Foundation’s sector networks.
The Foundation supports interested potential donars to shape the purpose, criteria, timing and value of a scholarship or award, while ensuring it aligns with the Foundation’s charitable purposes.
