Eligibility
You can apply if you are:
A project of relevance to forestry in the Otago Southland region.
A project with a clear purpose, plan, and expected outcomes.
What you need to do

What to include with your application
A short description of the project and why it is relevant to forestry in Otago / Southland.
What you plan to do, including timeline and key steps.
A simple budget showing how the funds will be used.
Any supporting information that helps assess the value and feasibility of the project.
How applications are assessed
Applications are considered against:
Relevance to forestry in the Otago / Southland region.
Clarity of purpose, approach, and expected outcomes.
Feasibility and value for money, including the budget.
Presentation and communication of the proposal.
Terms of payment
The award is up to $2,000.
Payment will be arranged with the successful applicant after selection.
Background information
Funds to finance this award arose from a donation associated with members of the NZIF Otago Southland local section. The award will cease once funds are exhausted.
In the 2015 to 2016 year, the NZIF Foundation agreed to establish the Otago / Southland award using funds received in 2013 to 2014 that arose from members of the NZIF Otago Southland local section.
