Student Poster Competition

A student poster competition held at the NZIF Annual Conference, with prizes for the top posters as voted by conference attendees.

2nd Place:  $500.00 **
3rd Place:   $200.00 **

Entry Details

Eligibility

You can apply if you are:

  • A student enrolled at a New Zealand tertiary institute.

Poster theme

  • Your poster must be on a theme associated with some aspect of forestry in New Zealand. Forestry is interpreted broadly and can include:
    • Native and plantation forests.
    • Recreation, biodiversity, and environmental topics.
    • Intensive production forestry and forest management.
    • Processing, marketing, and use of forest products, including non wood products.
    • Other related topics connected to forestry in New Zealand.

How the winners are decided

  • Prizes are based on votes cast by conference attendees.

  • Winners are announced at the conference dinner.

Attendance

Attendance at the conference is desirable so you can discuss your poster with attendees, but it is not mandatory. If you are not attending, you can arrange for another person to be available to discuss the poster on your behalf.

How to enter

  • Email the Foundation to confirm your intention to submit a poster by the date listed above, so you can be included on the voting forms.  Include if attending and your poster title.

  • Prepare your poster for display at the conference  in AO poster size (portrait).

Poster delivery and display

  • If you are attending the conference, bring your poster with you for the display boards.

  • If you are not attending, contact the Foundation to arrange delivery, either by sending the poster to an agreed address or having someone attending bring it on your behalf to display.
